The Qingdao Textile Museum was originally established in 2009 and was relocated and rebuilt in 2017. The new museum is located at No. 80 Siliu South Road in the ‘Textile Valley’ park. It covers an area of 170,000 square meters. With a long history and numerous industrial heritages, it is one of the most distinctive textile museums in China, featuring a layout known as ‘Nine Pavilions and Eighteen Scenes’.
The museum serves as a national science education base and a science education base in Shandong Province, a venue for youth education and practice, and has been honored with the title of China Textile ‘Shang Qing Tian’ Cultural Communication Base. It is an integrated center for fiber technology and fiber art experience, combining science education, entertainment, and life experience.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:30 to 16:30 all year round; closed all day on Mondays.
Preferential policies include: Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) enter for free; elderly visitors aged 70 and above (inclusive) enter for free with an elderly preferential certificate or ID card; disabled visitors enter for free with a disability certificate; active-duty military personnel enter for free with an officer’s ID, and retired military personnel enter for free with a Glory Card; families in dire financial straits enter for free with relevant documents; Qingdao textile residents enter for free with a valid ID; students receive discounts with a valid ID.
