Qinglongxia Scenic Area

Qinglongxia Scenic Area is surrounded by lush green mountains and clear waters, offering a refreshing atmosphere. When hiking and mountaineering, one can also catch glimpses of the ancient Great Wall from the Ming Dynasty along the way, making it an ideal place for Beijing residents to relax and vacation. In addition to natural scenery, you can also participate in water sports such as boating, bumper boats, and speedboats.

For those seeking thrills, bungee jumping and rock climbing are also available. A reservoir dam is built within Qinglongxia, dividing the entire scenic area into two parts: the high gorge and flat lake area in the south, and the extreme sports venue on the east bank. In the southern lake area, the scenic area offers many water sports activities where visitors can take a boat or speedboat to roam the waters, enjoying the scenery on both sides.

Alternatively, one can choose bamboo rafts or rowing boats in shallow waters, or engage in bumper boats, water walking balls, and other water games. The lake area also opens a swimming pool to the public in the summer.

If you prefer more thrilling entertainment options, head to the east bank of the scenic area. On the east bank of Qinglongxia, extreme entertainment activities such as bungee jumping, rock climbing, and abseiling are available. The bungee jumping platform is approximately 60 meters above the water; the abseiling route is about 300 meters long with a drop of about 30 meters; the rock climbing wall is 25 meters high, all of which are very challenging and exciting.

Water sports and extreme entertainment activities within the scenic area require additional fees, and specific prices can be referred to on the official website. Additionally, one can walk along the hiking trails in Qinglongxia (or take a sightseeing cable car, a 10-minute one-way trip) to reach Yuhuangtai, enjoying the winding ancient Great Wall amidst the mountains. On a clear day, one can also see the Huairou district and Miyun Reservoir from the top. The scenic area provides accommodation and catering services, but most visitors return to downtown Beijing on the same day and do not stay overnight.
