Qing Shu Xuan is located in Ping Shan, Yuen Long, Hong Kong, adjacent to the Tsang Ting Study Room, and is one of the cultural relics on the Ping Shan Heritage Trail. Constructed by Tang Heung Chuen, the 22nd generation of the Tang clan, it was completed in 1874 and served as a lodging for visiting dignitaries and distinguished scholars. As a guesthouse, Qing Shu Xuan boasts exquisite decorations and arrangements, featuring many innovative auspicious patterns that blend Chinese and Western styles, which are both gorgeous and thoughtful.
The establishment also includes exquisite courtyards, delicate wood carvings, and refined plaster sculptures. Even the lattice windows of the rooms are meticulously crafted, showcasing the grandeur of the Tang family’s local prominence at the time.
