The Qiu Shaoyun Martyrs Memorial Hall is built to commemorate martyr Qiu Shaoyun of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. The memorial hall is located at the top of Fengshan Mountain in Shaoyun Park, Tongliang District, Chongqing City. On both sides of the main entrance of the memorial hall are building structures in the shape of raging fire, which reminds people of Qiu Shaoyun’s deeds and implies the symbolic meaning of a fiery diamond. The cypresses in the hall are tall and straight, the camphor trees are fragrant, and the ancient banyan trees spread out huge canopies and are dotted among the green grass and red flowers. The entire hall is composed of two parts: the monument and the exhibition hall of heroic deeds. The exhibition hall and the monument are separated by a natural pool and stand majestically in the green shade from a distance, appearing solemn and majestic.

The ‘Qiu Shaoyun Martyrs Monument’ is 15 meters high. At the top of the monument is a 5-meter-high bronze statue of the martyr. The inscription on the monument is written by Zhu De. The exhibition hall of heroic deeds displays more than 250 pieces of the martyr’s clothing, pictures and auxiliary exhibits, showing and praising the life of martyr Qiu Shaoyun.

The Qiu Shaoyun Martyrs Monument is located right in front of the exhibition hall. The monument is 10 meters high. The front of the monument body is engraved with ‘Qiu Shaoyun Martyrs Monument’, and the back is engraved with a brief biography of the martyr. At the top of the monument is a 5-meter-high statue of the martyr. On the front of the monument base is a relief pattern composed of the Gold Star Medal, olive leaves and submachine guns, and on the back is the pattern of the National Flag Medal.

The Qiu Shaoyun deeds exhibition hall has an entrance hall, a calligraphy and painting exhibition hall and four heroic deeds exhibition halls. A total of more than 190 cultural relics such as the martyr’s relics, pictures, and inscriptions by central leaders are displayed, showing the glorious life of martyr Qiu Shaoyun.

The opening hours are from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 all year round.
