Qixia Palace, formerly known as Yunsheng Palace, is located 5 kilometers northwest of Yunyang County. It was built in the Han Dynasty. Since the Northern and Southern Dynasties, it has been repeatedly constructed. With a magnificent scale, it is one of the famous palaces and temples of the entire Taoist sect. Legend has it that Han Fujia once lived in seclusion here to avoid the chaos of the Qin Dynasty. When he left, he planted a podocarpus macrophyllus. The pine still stands proudly and is evergreen all year round. In addition to the main hall of Qixia Palace, there are many historical sites and scenic spots such as the Tiger-Tying Stone, Golden Plate Pool, Luolong Well, Self-Sacrifice Rock, Fox Cave, and Pine-Listening Wall. The entire palace and temple are built on the top of the mountain, surrounded by green pines. The buildings have upturned eaves and flying corners, painted pillars and carved beams. The pillars are tall, and the cornerstones are decorated with tigers and leopards, lifelike. Inside the palace, there are seated statues of Taoist ancestors such as Yuanshi Tianzun and Taishang Laojun. There is a giant alchemy furnace in the main hall, and famous couplets and poems are hung all over the temple. Opening hours: open all day from January 1st to December 31st.
