The Qixingyan Archway Square is primarily composed of the Qixingyan Archway, the square itself, and a colorful musical fountain. It draws inspiration from the architectural and garden layout characteristics of Lingnan. Among them, the Qixingyan Archway, often photographed by tourists, was originally constructed in 1958 and serves as a landmark of Zhaoqing City. Its color scheme, featuring bright and cheerful red, green, and blue, reflects the city’s exuberant and passionate lifestyle, making it grand and beautiful.
The surroundings of the square are built with steps, flower beds, mushroom-shaped water curtain pavilions, and many other places to stop and rest. The square is bustling both day and night, with people jogging in the early morning; as evening falls, crowds gather to admire the splendid lighting effects of the archway and fountain, each enjoying their own pleasure. Of course, the liveliest time is when the musical fountain starts in the evening, with a sea of people. On the square, there are those riding bicycles, playing inline skates, chatting, playing around, playing amusement games, and the ubiquitous square dance aunties, filled with the flavor of local life.

Access to the square is very convenient, with multiple bus routes available. You can get off at the Bus Terminal or Qixingyan Archway East Station. Adjacent to the square is a large shopping mall, making dining, shopping, and strolling very convenient. The opening hours and specific business status are subject to the day’s opening conditions.

Must-see tips: 1. The musical fountain performance starts at 20:00 every evening and lasts for half an hour. 2. To fully enjoy the fountain, it’s best to watch from the railing; sitting on the steps won’t provide a full view, so it’s advisable to secure a spot in advance. 3. Every Saturday, there is a large-scale public cultural performance at the Qixingyan Archway Square.
