Quanzhou Catholic Church is located at Hua Xiang Xu Cuo Chan, introduced by Spanish missionaries. Initially, it was funded and constructed by Chen Guangchun, a Chinese overseas worker in the Philippines, in 1926, occupying an area of 15 acres at that time. After the liberation, the church and its affiliated buildings were occupied, and some properties were reclaimed after 1978. In 1983, with approval, the church was permitted to reopen for religious activities.
Due to severe damage and inability to restore, it was reconstructed from 2001 to 2003, featuring a typical Gothic red church style. The inauguration ceremony was held on November 13, 2004. The church now covers an area of 1550.8 square meters, with a construction area of 975 square meters, capable of accommodating over 1000 people. Believers from Quanzhou and surrounding areas gather here for meetings. Occasionally, elderly nuns may provide explanations. However, the main part is the second floor where worship takes place. The church is open all year round from 8:00 to 18:30.Quanzhou Catholic Church: A Gothic Red Church with Historical Significance
