Qushan Island is located northeast of Gaoting Town, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. It is a charming and restrained pearl of the Zhoushan Islands. Here, you can feast your eyes on the windmill viewing platform, worship at Guanyin Mountain, look at the starry sky, and explore mirages. Nearly a hundred power-generating windmills are distributed on the ridges of the entire island of Qushan Island. The continuous ridges are like a ‘country of windmills’. At the windmill viewing platform, behind is a huge white windmill, and in front is the endless sea. The scenery is shocking.
Guanyin Mountain is a peak on Qushan Island. Several peaks are connected in a chain like a lotus flower. Legend has it that before the Guanyin Bodhisattva went to Putuo to cultivate Taoism, she stayed on this mountain for several years. The more magnificent building on the mountain is the Jade Buddha Pagoda, which is about 45 meters high and has eleven floors. The base of the pagoda is ten meters square. It is made of finely cut granite and there are stairs inside. You can go up layer by layer and place two hundred jade Buddhas on each layer. The lantern on the top of the tower can be seen hundreds of miles around and is a major landscape of the Zhoushan Islands.

In addition, there are salt pans on Qushan Island. It is one of the main production areas of ‘Dai salt’. Tourists can see a rather spectacular large salt pan along the central coast of the island.
