In the early 1930s, warlords designated the ruins of the Shanxi Guild Hall as the site and built the Chongqing Reflection Institute. According to the data of the Cultural Heritage Management Institute of Yuzhong District, the Reflection Institute was a detention center for progressive people at that time. There was once a tall courtyard wall, inside which there were three buildings: a guard room, an office, and a detention room.
