Rizhao Olympic Water Sports Park was the venue for all rowing and canoeing events during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The park covers a vast area, which can be explored by bicycle, and features a large-scale sea water music fountain at night, enhanced by lighting for a more spectacular view.
Visitors interested in experiencing traditional Chinese water sports can try their hand at dragon boat racing or embark on a voyage with a large sailboat. On a lucky day, one might even witness professional sailors in their rigorous training sessions.
The park is divided into four main sections: the Water Sports Base, the Lighthouse Square, the Wanpingkou Beach Ecological Square, and the World Sailing Championship Base. It is open to the public all year round, with full-day access.
