The Royal Canal offers an experience of feeling the ancient charm of 700 years in China’s Seine River. It allows you to experience the refreshing feeling of being in harmony with the painting. Trace back the secluded years in history and explore the ancient stories that have been passed down over the years. The Royal Canal is also known as the ‘Long River’. This river has a long history and can be traced back to the Zhai River in the Jin Dynasty.

During the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, this river course was renovated and changed into a special canal for the royal family. Therefore, it is called the Royal Canal Cruise. Empress Dowager Cixi visited the Summer Palace 32 times in her life. Every year, she would take a boat from Wanshou Temple to visit the Summer Palace. As the royal canal, the scenery is naturally needless to say.

Every spring and summer, the banks are filled with beautiful willows and peach blossoms, leaving a beautiful story of ‘viewing pines at the Temple of Heaven and observing willows by the Long River’.
