Rui Jing Stone Flower Cave

Rui Jing Stone Flower Cave is located in Pu Village, Shi Rui Township, Changhua District, Lin’an City, Zhejiang Province. It is a natural karst cave with a high density and a complete variety of karst landscapes. The cave maintains a constant temperature of 18 degrees Celsius all year round, and the air is very fresh, making it an ideal place to escape the summer heat.

Before entering the cave, one must walk 280 meters along a mountain path to reach the summit. The path is shaded by lush green trees, so even in summer, the sun’s rays are blocked and the cool mountain breeze can still be felt. Continuing forward, after passing through a vast walnut forest, one arrives at the cave entrance. The entire tour must be guided and explained by a guide, and the entire visit takes over an hour. Visitors can take photos at the entrance as a souvenir, since the exit is in another location.

Inside the cave, Rui Jing Stone Flower Cave is divided into five cave halls. Following the guide in order, visitors will pass through attractions such as Rui Jing Observation Ladder, East Sea Dragon Palace, West Lake Scenery, and Stone Flower World. Among them, the Rui Jing Observation Ladder, which is over eighty meters long, is a unique feature of Rui Jing Stone Flower Cave. It is currently the only cave in China where visitors must climb a ladder to enter and tour inside. Looking down from above, it is very spectacular and thrilling. The ladder has steps for free ascent and descent, and it is said that an elevator will be installed inside the ladder in the future. In addition, the famous stone flowers inside the cave are diverse in shape. Some resemble chrysanthemums in full bloom, others like a spring competition of flowers. Up close, they look like clusters of flowers, and from afar, they resemble a myriad of stars, vying for beauty and splendor. The second cave hall alone has over three thousand stone flowers in full bloom, which is quite astonishing.

The exit of the cave is at the foot of the mountain. Next to it is the Rui Jing Science Popularization Exhibition Hall, which is worth visiting if time permits. Next to the exit, there is a parking lot with Rui Jing Mountain Goods City, mainly selling local specialties such as walnuts, tea, dried bamboo shoots, and various dried vegetables. It is a good idea to choose some to take back. In addition, there are several farmhouse restaurants in the scenic area, such as Rui Jing Restaurant, where one can dine. The ‘three stones’ – stone chicken, stone ear, and stone fish – are all produced in the mountains. Along with fresh vegetables grown by the farmers and wild tea picked from the mountains, they taste quite good.

**Must-see Tips:**

– **Summer Visits:** A long-sleeved shirt is highly recommended for visits during the summer months. This is because the cave maintains a constant temperature of 18 degrees Celsius all year round, which can be chilly despite the outdoor heat.

– **Footwear:** Be mindful of the footwear you choose. Some paths inside the cave are not only steep but also wet. Flat, non-slip shoes are the best option to ensure your safety and comfort while navigating these challenging sections.
