Guanshan in Chenghai is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. In particular, the Shenshan Scenic Area within its territory. In 1928, the ‘Rice-producing Stone in Shenshan Mountain’ was one of the eight scenic spots in Shantou. In 1984, the cliff carvings on Shenshan Mountain were announced as cultural relic protection units by the People’s Government of Chenghai County. In 2006, it was rated as one of the first batch of municipal-level scenic areas in Shantou.
