The Alligator Sacrificial Platform was originally an ancient alligator ferry crossing. Legend has it that Han Yu of the Tang Dynasty once set up an altar here to sacrifice to alligators and wrote ‘Essay on Alligators’. Hence it got its name. Later, people built the Autumn Wind Pavilion at the original site.
