Known as the ‘back garden of Hong Kong’, Sai Kung not only has world-class geological features and a winding natural coastline, but in recent years, it has also added a touch of art and humanity. The Sai Kung Sea Art Festival has been held in Sai Kung since 2022 for a period of three years. The art festival in 2022 had the subtitle ‘Joy Again, Isle’, and exhibited artworks created based on the islander life on Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island. The art festival in 2023 had the subtitle ‘Joy Again, Stories’, expanding the art festival from two islands, Yim Tin Tsai and Sharp Island, to Kau Sai Chau and High Island, and publicly solicited artworks. It is expected to connect people and things on each island, narrate stories of places, humanities, ecology and appearances, have a dialogue with the present, and look forward to the future. The Sai Kung Sea Art Festival 2024 is scheduled to be held from November 13, 2024 to January 12, 2025. In addition to many new artworks, during the art festival, there will be many wonderful activities and guided tours suitable for all ages held in Yim Tin Tsai, Sharp Island, Kau Sai Chau (Kau Sai Village), High Island and Sai Kung City. From mid-November this year to mid-January next year, the Sai Kung Sea Art Festival ‘promises to meet you again on the island’!
