The Sanqu Stone Forest scenic area is located within the territory of Huibu Town, Changshan County. It is about 10 kilometers away from the county seat and has an altitude of 518.8 meters. It is a national AAAA-level tourist scenic area, a national geological park, and a provincial-level scenic area. The scenic area is mainly characterized by karst limestone karst landform landscapes, integrating stone forest wonders, canyon victories, and mountain forest wildness. The karst of Sanqu Stone Forest belongs to the juvenile stage and is mainly composed of peak clusters. The micro-landform is composed of stone buds and solution grooves. At the same time, it is also a huge paleontological reef in the late Ordovician period (440 million years ago). It is an important area for studying the paleozoic history of South China. Sanqu Stone Forest is precious due to the combination of biological reefs and beautiful karst landforms. The typical karst landform has given birth to a magnificent stone forest labyrinth wonder with various forms, realistic illusions, and unique charm. The solution groove stone buds hidden among the green vines are extremely beautiful. Under the action of geological evolution, typical geomorphological landscapes such as castle stone forest, patio stone forest (tiankeng), small Gushan karst depression, wisteria canyon, and fairy cave have been formed. Morphologically, it is manifested as various pictographic animals, castles, corridors, natural bridges, and stone forests composed of these units. It is called ‘a rare geological and geomorphological landscape in the world’ by geologists at home and abroad.
