Sansha Town is located in Xiapu County, Ningde City, Fujian Province, situated at the northeastern coastal protrusion of Fujian Province, in the central part of Xiapu County, 126 nautical miles away from Keelung Port and only 16 nautical miles away from Matsu Island, with a land area of 63.6 square kilometers. Historical records indicate that from the Tang Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, garrisons were stationed in this area in every generation.
