The Sanshui Giant Buddha was built in 1994 and is now the largest reclining Buddha in China. The giant Buddha is adjacent to mountains and water. Its posture is stretched and calm, and its expression is gentle and serene. The reclining Buddha is 108 meters long and 18 meters wide at the shoulders. It is carved from a large intact rock and covered with 60 tons of copper. The reclining Buddha takes the reclining Buddha in Dunhuang during the prosperous Tang Dynasty as a model. Lying by the water, it seems to be sleeping but not sleeping, with auspicious qi and peace. In front of the Buddha, there is a blessing bridge directly leading to the Buddha’s body. There is a picture of a hundred blessings on it. It is an excellent holy place for praying for blessings. The koi fish pond, lotus pond, buildings for worshipping the Buddha, pavilions, terraces, corridors in front of the Buddha set off the giant Buddha, presenting an extraordinary and fascinating sight.
