Sanya Binglang Ethnic Village is located within the Gansiling Nature Reserve of the Wuzhi Mountain range. Surrounded by steep forests on both sides, it features a continuous areca nut valley stretching for several kilometers, hence the name ‘Binglang Valley’. While coconuts represent Hainan, areca nuts symbolize the Li family. In Li culture, no ceremony is complete without areca nuts, and no marriage can take place without them. The term ‘areca nut’ can be considered a cultural identifier for the Li people. Only by venturing into Binglang Valley and immersing oneself in Li culture and the mysterious forest can one truly experience the simplicity and charm of the ethnic customs.
Opening hours: January 1st to December 31st, 08:00 to 17:30.
