Gouqi Island is located in the east of Shengsi Islands and is the second largest island in the archipelago. At the eastern end of the island, there is Gouqi Beach, which is very charming. On the southern cliff, there are scenic spots such as Tiger Rock, Dragon Emerging from Water, Island Sand Monument, and Xiaoxi Mountain. Gouqi Island was originally named after the growth of Chinese wolfberries all over the mountains. Now, the mariculture of shellfish and algae organisms, especially mussels (mussels), has a large annual output. Mussels are delicious in taste and contain a large amount of protein and eight amino acids. They are known as ‘eggs in the sea’ and have high nutritional value. Climbing mountains to view the sea and tasting seafood have made this island more and more popular. The famous stone carving ‘Wonders of Mountains and Seas’ of the Ming Dynasty is located within the territory. There are also two golden beaches, each more than 600 meters long, at the southeast and southwest of the island, waiting to be developed.
