The Seclusion Temple is located on a small hill two kilometers east of Huangyan Chengguan. It is on the White Dragon Mountain, a branch of Jiufeng Mountain. Before Emperor Gaozong of the Southern Song Dynasty, it was called Zhusha Temple. Later, because Emperor Gaozong took refuge in this temple and left the words ‘seclusion’ on the wall of the temple courtyard, later generations renamed the temple as Seclusion Temple until today. The Seclusion Temple has a mountain gate, a Mahavira Hall… One by one, the halls stand tall. This temple, which was first built in the Tang Dynasty, has experienced the rise and fall of various dynasties and has finally been passed down. For example, it was rebuilt in the twelfth year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1807). It was initially abandoned after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In 1975, local believers spontaneously raised funds to rebuild the main hall. In 1983, Master Huaxi became the abbot and later expanded it one after another.
