Senado Square is the square in front of the Macau Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau Building. It has an area of about 3,700 square meters and is one of the four major squares in Macau. Around the square are many century-old Portuguese-style old buildings. The black and white wavy ground of the square and the fountain in the middle add more southern European charm. On major festivals in Macau, activities are often held in Senado Square. For example, every June, the Macau Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau holds the ‘Macau Lotus Festival’. At the opening of the event, there will be 3,000 pots of lotus flowers of more than 60 varieties blooming competitively in Taipa’s Seac Pai Van, Senado Square, and Lou Lim Ieoc Garden. If you come here in June, you should be able to encounter it. The opening hours are all year round and open all day. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day. Must-see tip: If you come to Senado Square to play and encounter the Lotus Festival in June, it is better to take pictures of lotus flowers around 9 o’clock.
