Shalinghe Park is located between Beijing Road and Shanghai Road, stretching 1360 meters in length and 50 meters in width, with a total construction area of 68,000 square meters. The park was developed by appropriately transforming an existing drainage ditch into a meandering stream, which is characterized by its winding path, varying widths, and emotional curves. Stepping stones are placed in the narrower parts, while the wider areas are adorned with lotus plants and fish ponds. The slopes are primarily protected by natural means, using natural Laoshan stones and pebbles to pave the riverbanks and waterways, or by using turf for a more rustic and natural appearance, making it seem as if it was created by nature itself.
During the construction of Shalinghe Park, various functional areas were established to meet different needs, including a viewing landscape area, a children’s activity area, a rest and leisure area, a senior activity area, a shaded fitness area, an entrance gathering area, and a cultural and entertainment activity area. The park features 9 squares, 4 pergolas, 4 landscape pavilions, 1 artificial mountain waterfall, and 3 automatic music fountains, which cater to visitors’ needs for sightseeing and relaxation, fully reflecting the ‘people-oriented’ humanistic spirit. The park is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.Shalinghe Park
