Using lights as the medium and spreading warmth, the first Yinzhou Qianshuiwan large-scale art lantern festival titled ‘Lights Fill the Garden, Rural Charm’ jointly created by Ningbo Qianshuiwan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. and Zigong Huajing Lantern Culture Communication Co., Ltd. will be held in Yinzhou Qianshuiwan Rural Happy World from September 18, 2013 to October 31, 2013.
The first Yinzhou Qianshuiwan large-scale art lantern festival is a display of traditional projects and a visual feast attracting the attention of the whole city. It has national heritage. The lantern groups of this Qianshuiwan lantern festival all come from Zigong area. As early as the Tang and Song dynasties, Zigong had the custom of enjoying lanterns in the new year. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it further developed into various lantern festival seasons.


Zigong lantern festival is known for its magnificent momentum and large scale; it wins with ingenious conception and exquisite production; it is also known as ‘high-taste art’, ‘flowing cultural tourism resource’ and ‘the pride of national traditional culture’, and has a wide folk foundation and is deeply loved by the masses. This lantern festival is of grand scale, great creativity and elaborate production, with interaction between people and lanterns, integrating ‘form, color, sound, light, movement and performance’.


Centering on ‘taking landscapes as the root, culture as the soul, and highlighting the contrast between ancient and modern’, highlighting Chinese cultural elements and connecting various functions such as urban economy, culture, society and leisure as the theme, attracting people with unique features and moving people with distinct novelty as the design main line, making bold breakthroughs in style, color and production materials to exert artistic expressiveness and visual impact.


Due to the rich and appropriate selection of themes, the cultural connotation of the scheme is enriched, fully reflecting the combination of tradition and fashion, traditional art crafts and modern technology, coexistence of delicacy and magnificence, and combination of appreciation and culture, showing a long scroll of Jiangnan culture’s customs and human landscapes, local conditions and customs, and conveying a harmonious, warm, lively, festive and auspicious festival atmosphere, creating a beautiful landscape for beautiful Yinzhou.

This lantern festival is divided into three theme areas: ‘Family Reunion under the Full Moon – Celebrating Reunion in Mid-Autumn Festival’ and ‘Rural Charm – Leisurely Qianshuiwan’. Each theme area has different styles and cleverly combines Chinese traditional festivals and the charm of Qianshuiwan farm. The lantern festival is truly a rare event and not to be missed.
