The China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair (CCBF) is under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department (Shanghai Press and Publication Bureau). It is jointly sponsored by Shanghai Xinhua Distribution Group Co., Ltd., China Education Publishing & Media Group Co., Ltd., and Global Press and Publication Development Co., Ltd., and undertaken by Shanghai Rongbo Exhibition Co., Ltd.
Since its establishment in 2013, CCBF has quickly established its increasingly significant position in the international publishing market. It is a leading professional exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region focusing on children’s book publishing and children’s content. After ten years of development, CCBF closely centers around the theme of ‘Being with the World and the Future’. It provides an excellent communication platform for children’s book copyright trading, marketing and distribution, and cross-border cooperation. It plays an important role in improving the quality of children’s literature and promoting children’s reading. Since 2018, CCBF has joined hands with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF), the world’s largest international children’s book fair. With industry-leading expertise, rich exhibition organizing experience, and a vast amount of high-quality resources, it better serves China’s publishing industry’s development strategy of ‘going global’ and ‘bringing in’. It promotes China’s excellent original content to the world and brings the best international works to Chinese readers. The concurrent activities held by CCBF are also full of highlights, including official professional forums and conferences, the Golden Pinwheel International Young Illustrator Competition and illustration exhibition, Illustrator Avenue, ‘Children’s Books+’ themed special book exhibitions, and city linkage and a series of Chinese and foreign children’s book publishing, creation exchange, and reading promotion activities. In 2023, the Shanghai Children’s Book Fair attracted 478 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions including China, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Belgium, Austria, South Korea, etc. Among them, there are 323 domestic exhibitors and 155 international exhibitors. The total number of visitors in three days of the exhibition reached 42,733, including 19,086 professional visitors. The 11th China Shanghai International Children’s Book Fair in 2024 will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center from November 15th to 17th. The full opening time is from November 15th to November 17th.
