[Shanghai] Exhibition of ‘ALI BANISADR: The Diviner’

This exhibition showcases 11 paintings. He will invite the audience to enter his noisy and hazy independent world. Since Banisadr began exhibiting his works in 2008, he has been unswervingly following an extraordinary path. His works are sincere and unrestrained. With rich imagination, he has created a self-contained world. Like a prophet, he can see things that others cannot and depict this independent world with pigments and brushstrokes. In his large-scale paintings, we can see many figures engaged in mysterious activities. Banisadr does not tell the audience who these figures are, where they come from, or what they are doing. He hopes that his works are open and become a place where the audience can discover mysterious encounters and conversations, a dreamy world where it is difficult to grasp the overall meaning. But at the same time, Banisadr is not deliberately creating obscurity. Although he knows that many artists will play this game with the audience. Instead, he invites the audience to reflect on their own experiences and ask questions. When standing in front of Banisadr’s works, we can feel the magic of colors. At the same time, our inward examination and reflection are inseparable from the pleasure felt when viewing the pictures.
