If the artworks in ‘Neverland’ directly confront the sea with silhouettes of figures, depicting the artist’s past memories of migrating towards the coast, ‘Tropic Line’ transforms the former destinations into a background setting. Ran Kai still divides the canvas into two distinct lower and upper halves with a horizontal line, using interlacing lines to simulate the paths on a map, while the foreground is composed of more lines, creating layers of bodies and spaces. The ideals and emotions of the past are no longer the place Ran Kai thinks about, but they remain on the canvas like memories, becoming the starting point for a new direction of exploration. Open from November 3rd to December 2nd, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status.
