The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. In the cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries, the exchange of fine arts is of paramount importance. At the beginning of the 20th century, many Chinese youths came to France in pursuit of their artistic dreams, giving rise to a group of outstanding artists such as Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, and Liu Haisu. They not only created a vast number of classic works of art but also made significant contributions to modern Chinese art education. The exchange of fine arts between China and France has had a profound impact on the art circles of both nations, fostering mutual understanding of each other’s cultures and laying the foundation for increasingly diverse artistic exchanges. The upcoming solo exhibition of Fu Chong, titled ‘Yidong’, will feature nearly twenty new works from the artist’s four representative series: ‘Human Faces and Peach Blossoms’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Animals’, and ‘Homage to Masters’. The exhibition will be open from November 1st to November 17th, with the specific business status subject to the daily opening conditions.
