The Shanghai Textile and Apparel Museum is located in the picturesque campus of Donghua University on Yan’an Road. The museum is themed around the development history of Chinese textile and apparel, as well as the popularization of textile and apparel science education. It serves multiple functions including science popularization, academic exchange, discipline education, scientific research, and social service. It embodies the combination of academic and popular science, the integration of textiles and apparel, and a comprehensive display of textiles and apparel from ethnic minorities and the Han majority.
The first floor of the exhibition hall is dedicated to popular science; the second floor is the ancient hall, displaying images and artifacts of textile and apparel from various periods of ancient China, showcasing the development process of ancient textiles and textile tools; the third floor houses the modern hall and the ethnic minorities hall.
