Shanghai Wealth God Temple

Shanghai Wealth God Temple is a rare Taoist temple in the country named after the Wealth God. It was reconstructed on the original site of the ancient Hongqiao Temple in 2008.


Hongqiao Temple, built in the 14th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1586 AD), was named after its old geographical location ‘Hongqiao’. It once housed the statues of Dongyue Great Emperor, City God, Cihang Zhenren, and the Wealth God, among others.
