Shanghai Yue Opera House is a nationally renowned opera house known both domestically and internationally.
Its predecessor was the state-owned East China Yue Opera Experimental Troupe, formed by the merger of some members from the original Xue Sheng Troupe and Yun Hua Troupe, established in April 1950, under the jurisdiction of the Cultural Department of the East China Military and Political Committee.
