Exiting the museum that harbors emotions, the destination is always approached with a certain ambiguity, akin to following a map to find a treasure. In these days where waiting becomes a skill, the subtle fluctuations within are magnified, yet the ways to identify the world become fragile and blurred. Let the body soar out of the window, to sing and wander in the vastness of the world, sometimes climbing to mountain tops, sometimes sinking to the depths of lakes, sending out yearning in the evening breeze, encountering love on the overpass, and then walking alone again. The ups and downs of life intertwine into a complex and touching melody, quietly shining at the edge of the basin.
About Zheng Xing, a singer, songwriter, and music producer known for his warm voice and delicate lyrics and compositions. His creations are not short of a consistent and vivid imagery, with everyday images conveying a cinematic sense. He is adept at using comfortable melodic progressions and romantic textual imagery, starting from a philosophical perspective, to correspond to the shifts and pauses of space, characters, and emotions. At the same time, he awakens the memory of sensory perception, achieving the artistic conception of ‘Spatial Poetics’. Besides his own works, he has also composed songs for singers such as Fish Leong, Michael Wong, Zeng Peici, Selina Jen, and Calvin Choi. In 2021, he completed nearly 20 performances of the ‘Museum of Tears’ in the spring and autumn-winter rounds, singing in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Chengdu, and received widespread acclaim, collecting a lot of tears and energy from fans.In 2023, he released the full-length album ‘Basin’, which achieved great results on multiple charts, with unprecedented success in physical sales, digital playback, and music reviews.
In 2024, he started the ‘Edge of the Basin’ tour. The first two stops in Taipei and Kaohsiung both sold out.
About ‘Edge of the Basin’, gazing from the edge of the basin, life’s hidden and broken undercurrents. This is a self-exploration about dispersion and belonging. Departing from a cloudy morning, it’s as if following the flight path of a sparrow, slowly landing in different corners of the city: overpasses, stations, lakeside… Whether it’s night, day, or dusk, the traveler’s steps never stop. On flights taking off and landing, or on balconies lost in introspection, there are restless souls yearning for the distance, fantasizing about wandering. Finally, the memories and emotions of the journey all dissipate at the edge of the basin, emitting a faint light. The collapse between the new world and the old world, the mystery of arrival before the debut and incompleteness. Let’s walk this very long road together.
The event starts on October 20th, Sunday, at 20:00 and lasts approximately 90 minutes (subject to the actual situation on site).
