Shangli Reservoir is located on Wenzen Road, Shangli, Siming District, Xiamen City. It is adjacent to Xiamen Botanical Garden and surrounded by Xigu Ridge, Dongping Ridge and Huangcuo Ridge on three sides.
The reservoir was initially built in 1924 and is one of the older reservoirs in Xiamen. Its completion solved the problem of difficult water supply for Xiamen citizens at that time.

Aquatic plants such as reeds and cannas beside the reservoir sway gently in the breeze. In the distance, the mountains stretch out, presenting a lush green view.

At the end of the reservoir, the landmark building of Shangli Reservoir Dam is still preserved. There is a large pond downstream of the dam, with clear blue water and lush vegetation all around.

It is open from 06:00 to 18:00 throughout the year.
