For people who have lived in the city for a long time, it is a great weekend leisure choice. Tangkeng and Maotang are the main attractions. Tangkeng is a canyon shaded by bamboo forests. It is mainly natural scenery and mainly focuses on waterfalls. Maotang is mainly for rural leisure and you can enjoy溯瀑. After passing through the mountain-shaped bamboo building and the Tangkeng gatehouse at Tangkeng, you officially enter the Tangkeng scenic area. The ‘Eighteen Consecutive Waterfalls’ composed of eighteen waterfalls and the strange rocks along the way are highlights not to be missed. It takes about 1.5 hours to walk back and forth. Walking along the trail, passing strange rock landscapes such as immortals playing chess and lions paying respects to longevity, and soon you will reach Cuiping Welcoming Guests. This is the Eighteen Consecutive Waterfalls. Nearby is the symbol of the entire scenic area – the bamboo dragon. The dragon’s spine of the bamboo dragon climbs up along the ridge and the tail cannot be seen. It is quite imposing. The water mist sprayed from the dragon’s mouth may form a rainbow on a clear morning. Continuing to walk forward, Meihuashan Nong is a mountain stream and a triple waterfall. The sheer cliff and plum blossoms set each other off and are a more spectacular sight in the scenic area. There are several bamboo rafts here. Tourists can row a punt pole by themselves to get close to the waterfall for photos and feel this coolness. There is a corridor at the Mianbixuan nearby where you can take a short rest. Here you can almost see the entire body of the bamboo dragon. Continuing to climb up along the trestle on the cliff, you will find that each waterfall behind has its own unique shape. Currently, you can climb to the ninth waterfall Peacock Spreading Its Tail. Beyond that is an undeveloped area for the time being. Do not enter rashly. Maotang Standing at the Duìyìng Pavilion not far from the entrance of Maotang, you can see the famous ‘Maotang Cascading Waterfalls’ of Shanggougou, which is quite spectacular.溯瀑 is an interesting entertainment activity in Maotang. Put on straw sandals and a safety helmet and climb up along the waterfall. It is very cool. The ancient Maotang village in the scenic area should not be missed either. The farmhouse restaurants here can taste natural vegetables and dried bamboo shoots grown by local people. You can also stay overnight here and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. The local wine workshop, tofu workshop, and rice cake workshop in the village can not only see demonstrations such as making rice cakes, brewing local wine, and grinding tofu. If you think the taste is good, you can also buy some and take them home as gifts for relatives and friends.
