The Shangyu Museum, situated at the summit of Alarm Hill on Renmin Middle Road in the urban area, is a cultural landmark that boasts a unique exterior wall design and an integrated layout of museum and garden, making it a beautiful landscape within Shangyu City.
The museum features four main exhibitions, each offering a distinct glimpse into the region’s history and culture:
1. ‘Shangyu Yue Porcelain’ – This exhibition primarily showcases ceramic artifacts from the Hemudu culture to the Northern Song Dynasty. It comprehensively reflects the history of the Shangyu Yue Kiln, from its inception, maturation, development, to decline.
2. ‘Tianxianglou Steles and Corridor’ – This section of the museum is dedicated to the preservation and display of historical steles and the architectural beauty of the corridor.
3. ‘Shangyu City High-Tech Product Exhibition’ – This exhibition highlights the technological advancements and products that Shangyu City has to offer, showcasing its progress in the field of high technology.
4. ‘Liang Zhu Cultural Display’ – Mainly utilizing images, photographs, and artifacts, this display exhibits the geographical environment and cultural relics of Yingtai’s hometown, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the area’s cultural heritage.
The museum is open to the public all year round, with visiting hours from Tuesday to Sunday, 08:30-11:45 in the morning and 14:00-16:45 in the afternoon. It remains closed all day on Mondays, allowing for maintenance and rest.
