ShanMei Kangqiao is a rain and wind bridge constructed using traditional folk architectural techniques. The lower half of the bridge is made of reinforced concrete, while the upper half is entirely made of fir wood, with no metal attachments or fasteners; all connections are made using mortise and tenon joints. The bridge walls are adorned with carvings and paintings of auspicious creatures such as lions, bats, phoenixes, and qilin, which are depicted in a humorous and unbound style, exuding an antique charm and appearing lifelike.
The bridge is open throughout the year with full-day accessibility.Must Read
