The Shantou Gulf Ecological Wetland Park located at the junction of Taishan Road and Zhongshan Road covers an area of about 195 mu. With wetland ecology as the main tone, it is an ‘ecological oasis’ for leisure and sightseeing. The original appearance of the Gulf Wetland Ecological Park is overgrown with miscellaneous shrubs and has a low-lying terrain. On the basis of retaining the original water body, reeds and other aquatic plants, the project has cleared nearly 70,000 square meters of weeds and planted various types of trees, shrubs, hedges, aquatic plants, and ground cover plants of various specifications such as kapok, beautiful ceiba, phoenix tree, camphor tree, Chinese nanmu, heritiera littoralis, barringtonia racemosa, hibiscus tiliaceus, paulownia fortunei, and kandelia candel.
