Shanwei Port

Shanwei Port is located in Honghai Bay in eastern Guangdong, on the southwest side of Shanwei urban area. The port area of Shanwei Port is 25 square kilometers, with a coastline of 16 kilometers. The main channel has a water depth of nearly ten meters, and ships with a load of one thousand tons can freely enter and leave the port. Shanwei Port is an open port and a shining pearl on the shore of Honghai Bay.

It is 81 nautical miles away from Hong Kong. It has unique advantages, a vast fishing ground, and rich marine resources. The shipping industry is booming. The seaside scenery is beautiful, and there are shallow beaches suitable for swimming. It is also a rare natural shelter. When typhoons come, many ships gather here to take shelter, forming a magnificent scene of ‘thousands of sails waiting to set sail’! Shanwei Port is one of the six special fishing ports in the country.

It was the base where Dr. Sun Yat-sen chose to build a large southern port ninety years ago in the 1920s of this century. Visiting the seaside scenery of Shanwei, eating seafood, and having a look at the production process is quite interesting. The specific business hours and opening status are subject to the opening situation on the day.
