Located at the entrance of Gu Sheng Dong, Shell Dream World boasts stunning scenery. The scenic area houses a collection of over 6800 types of shells from countries such as the United States, Australia, and Southeast Asia. This shell-themed amusement park combines multimedia with sound, light, and electricity for a blend of reality and illusion.
The Shell Museum, situated in Gulangyu, is within the Shell Dream World and features a collection of over 6800 shells, focusing on representative species like the Martin’s Conch, Cowrie, Venus Cowrie, and Brandy Whirl. It offers an in-depth understanding of the basic forms, typical characteristics, and basic classifications of shells, and displays intriguing stories about shell collecting from collectors around the world. Some of the precious collections in the museum are exclusively used for annual shell academic exchanges.
Shell Dream World was innovatively transformed from the original Yingxiong Mountain air-raid shelter and named Gulang Cave. It is meticulously crafted as a multimedia adventure theme park, following the explorer Mr. Morgan in search of the mysterious Shell Sprite. The elusive appearance of the mysterious shell phantom leads to the oyster shell house life of the coastal fishermen, who rise with the sun and rest with the setting sun.
A beautiful wave from Gulangyu draws us to the Shell Sprite-driven Shell Theater, where the interplay of light and shadow leads us to the ancient submarine cabin at the deepest part of the ocean. The mermaid, with her graceful movements, informs us of the mysterious passage ahead. After a dizzying play of light and shadow, the door of time opens, and the transmission vortex takes us into the ancient ocean, exuding the charm of history and culture, where the undersea shell kaleidoscope blooms!
The legendary and thrilling journey has given Shell Dream World its unique advantage, making it a representative business card of Gulangyu.
