The Shengzhi Zhenpin Museum is located at the bustling commercial intersection of Longtou Road and Fujian Road on Gulangyu Island, Xiamen, at Fujian Road No. 54, 52 (next to Gulangyu Hospital). The museum building features a French-style twin villa, exuding an air of elegance and grandeur. The exhibition within the museum is divided into two main themes: the first part showcases the historical and cultural changes of Gulangyu Island before and after the Opium War, and the second part displays the royal culture of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Upon entering the museum, visitors can experience the transformation of Gulangyu Island over the centuries and witness the splendid authentic imperial edicts, including Emperor Qianlong’s imperial rescripts. After the exhibition, visitors can enjoy a performance of the Ming and Qing dynasties’ situational drama on Gulangyu Island, with classic dramas such as ‘Thicker Than Water’ (Zheng Chenggong), ‘Joint Trial Court’ (Foreigner Adjudication), and ‘Not an Inch to Yield’ (Opium Trade). The museum is open all year round from 09:00 to 19:00.Shengzhi Zhenpin Museum: A Historical and Cultural Gem on Gulangyu Island
