Shentangyu Natural Scenic Area is a secluded and fairyland-like paradise. Dozens of materials are abundantly produced locally. Legend has it that a miraculous doctor once came here to open a medicine hall to relieve the illnesses and pains of the people, hence the name ‘Shentangyu’. The naturally formed ‘stone waterfall’ is formed by the erosion of nearly 10,000 square meters of granite by rainwater.
It is like a pouring galaxy or a still waterfall, with magnificent momentum. The Yanqi River, formed by mountain springs, runs through the whole area. Its four seasons are constantly flowing and it is the source of Yanqi Lake. Here, clear springs and streams can be seen everywhere. The naturally formed Longtan is 4 meters deep, crystal clear, and the swimming fish can be counted. There are also many wide water surfaces such as Mandarin Duck Pond and Crocodile Pool, which are good places for tourists to swim and row boats. The Jigong Divine Crown is vividly shaped and extremely lifelike. Peak stones such as Eagle Beak Peak, Camel Ridge, Divine Turtle Stone, Phoenix Terrace, and Stone Crowd are all uncanny workmanship and full of fun. The infrastructure in the scenic area is also relatively complete. Tourists can stay and eat at farmhouses and experience local customs and people’s feelings.
