The predecessor of Shenzhen Art Museum was Shenzhen Exhibition Hall, which was established in 1976 and is one of the earlier art exhibition institutions in Shenzhen, with a history of 30 years. Since 2001, the Shenzhen Art Museum has set its academic goal to ‘focus on contemporary urban art and local art’, planning and hosting annual special exhibitions on Chinese contemporary art and Shenzhen local art to promote the development of Chinese contemporary urban art and local Shenzhen art. Opening hours are closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; open from 09:00 to 17:00 on Tuesdays to Sundays throughout the year, closed on Mondays except for holidays, with specific business status subject to the actual opening conditions on the day.
