The Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geological Park Museum is located in the Dome Travel Scenic Area of Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geological Park and is one of the core landscapes of the geological park. The museum is prepared according to the construction requirements of the national geological park by the Ministry of Land and Resources, with a construction area of 5,410 square meters. The museum has six exhibition halls in total: the preface hall, the Earth Exploration Exhibition Hall, the Dapeng Peninsula Exhibition Hall, the Mineral Exhibition Hall, the Urban and Geological Environment Exhibition Hall and the temporary exhibition hall. At the same time, there is also a 3D science popularization cinema, a multi-functional lecture hall and an outdoor dinosaur exhibition area. The museum has diverse display forms and adopts a large number of modern exhibition means: 44 multimedia films are played in a loop in the exhibition hall, including ‘The Formation of the Universe’, ‘The Formation of the Ocean’, ‘Chengjiang Fauna’, ‘Dynamic Background of Volcanic Eruption’ and ‘Geological Disasters in Coastal Cities’. In particular, a 3D film reflecting tsunami disasters and five phantom imaging of precious jades are elaborately produced. At the same time, more than 10 landscape scenes such as sea caves, volcanic eruptions, gem formation, coastal geological disasters, and core sampling are restored, truly reproducing the unique ancient volcanic landforms and coastal scenery of the geological park. The Shenzhen Dapeng Peninsula National Geological Park Museum is a geology museum based in Shenzhen and facing the whole country, fully displaying the regional geological characteristics of Dapeng Peninsula, Shenzhen City and even Guangdong Province. It provides a good platform for Shenzhen audiences and out-of-town tourists to understand Shenzhen’s geological resources.
