Shenzhen University Town is located in the northeast of Nanshan District, Shenzhen City (Xili Tanglang area). It is close to Shenzhen Safari Park and about 10 kilometers away from Shenzhen High-tech Industrial Park. The overall planned construction area is 10 square kilometers. Shenzhen University Town is the only graduate school group in China that is jointly organized by local governments and famous universities and approved by the Ministry of Education of the country, mainly cultivating full-time postgraduates. The land use of the west campus of the university town is generally divided into parts such as Tsinghua University campus, Peking University campus, Harbin Institute of Technology campus, public core area, and ecological park area. Taking the public core area as the core of the university town, the Tsinghua University campus, Peking University campus, Harbin Institute of Technology campus and their living areas are in a radial structure around the public core area to ensure convenient connections between each campus and the public core area, forming a’multi-group spatial structure with the public core area as the main connection, the building corridors of the three campuses as the framework, and highly integrated with natural water bodies and mountain terrains’. The public core area is equipped with large-scale projects such as the central management building, library, international conference center, sports center, and academic exchange center. It is open to the whole society through unified management and resource integration to improve the usage efficiency of various public facilities and promote cultural exchanges between schools and between schools and society.
