Shibaozhai

Shibaozhai is located in Shibao Town, Zhongxian County, Chongqing City. It was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. From the Kangxi period to the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was expanded and repaired many times. Shibaozhai is a national key cultural relics protection unit, a national-level scenic spot, a national AAAA-level tourist scenic spot, a Chinese overseas Chinese international cultural exchange base, a civilized tourist scenic area in Chongqing, and one of the first historical famous gardens in Chongqing.

Shibaozhai integrates natural landscapes and cultural landscapes. The building complex consists of six parts: the road into the stockade, the mountain gate, the stockade building, Kuixing Pavilion, Tianzi Hall, and the plank road down the mountain. The stockade building is a multi-story mortise and tenon wooden structure building existing in China, showing the superb architectural art achievements of ancient Chinese working people.

It is a bright pearl in southern folk architecture and enjoys a high reputation in the domestic and foreign tourism industry.
