Shimashan Park is located at the southern end of Erheng Street in Liangping County, Chongqing City. It is connected to the ring road and borders the Chongqing-Yichang Expressway in the north. It is a comprehensive park integrating tourism, sightseeing, leisure and entertainment, and sports and fitness. Because the mountain is shaped like a steed, it is called ‘Shimashan’ and is one of the ‘Eight Scenic Spots of Liangshan’.
The park covers an area of 260 mu. The higher altitude is 562.84 meters, the lower altitude is 468.3 meters, and the relative height difference is 94.54 meters. The park is divided into seven major scenic areas. The entrance area of the gate is located at the southern end of the Shimalu axis in Liangping County, which is the main channel for entering the park. The spacious black and white granite square, colorful fountains, cascading waterfalls, and various reliefs make people linger and forget to return. Looking up, three green ribbons accompanied by 299 spacious steps soar straight into the clouds. There are shady trees on both sides, and delicate flowers in the middle. The European-style garden gate is unique in workmanship. The mist-shrouded observation deck is now a wonderful stroke. Ascending step by step, the straight Shimalu is bustling with traffic, and the European-style buildings are extremely beautiful. The Shimaguiyun area is located at the tail of Shimashan Mountain and is the main peak of Shimashan Mountain. Here, in the morning, it is covered with rosy clouds, and in the evening, clouds return. Ascending and looking into the distance, the Wenfeng Tower stands toweringly. The natural scenery of ‘Tall Sorghum and Emerald Green’ is as beautiful as a painting. The vast expanse of fertile fields is shimmering like a lake and sea. Thousands of houses are like flat boats. The national highway is like a dragon emerging from a cave, and the beautiful scenery of the county town can be seen at a glance. On the cliff, with the stone horse as the theme, a large-scale sculpture with graceful postures makes the ‘Shimaguiyun’, one of the eight ancient scenic spots of Liangping, glow with youth. The children’s activity area is a paradise for children. There are childlike buildings, utensils such as swings, pressure plates, and slides, as well as electric small trains, cars, bumper cars, and high-altitude bicycles. Children can play here and carry out various activities. The cultural and entertainment area is centered on the Lansheng Tower built on the mountain and following the slope. It is a comprehensive cultural and entertainment area. Entering the building and climbing up to look, the scenery in the park is picturesque, and outside the park, ten thousand seedlings are plowing in spring. The Lansheng Tower is equipped with various indoor amusement and recreational facilities. Tourists can carry out various forms of cultural, sports, and entertainment activities such as fitness, bodybuilding, karaoke, and dancing here. The cultural leisure area is located in the east of the park and centered on the Shimashan Academy. There are paintings, bonsai, and small museum exhibitions in the courtyard, with a strong cultural atmosphere. There is also a pavilion on the south side of the Shimashan Academy. Sitting idly in the pavilion, the busy spring plowing scene outside the park can be seen at a glance, so it is called ‘Yilan Chun’. The academy is mainly for cultural leisure. Playing musical instruments, chess, calligraphy, and painting, one can enjoy oneself. At the same time, there is a tea room. Tourists can take a leisurely walk in the picturesque academy, play cards for entertainment, play chess, and taste tea and chat. The tension and fatigue of work can be fully relaxed here.In the golden autumn, sitting leisurely in the Xing Yun Pavilion, one can take in the panoramic view of the park’s vibrant red autumn leaves, and beyond the park, the boundless golden fields stretch as far as the eye can see.
The water area, located to the east of the entrance, centers around the White Horse Lake. The Chun Xiao Pavilion is built by the water on the lake’s edge, and on the west side of the lake is the Wang Yue Pavilion, creating a picturesque view with the Chun Xiao Pavilion.
