Shi Zhu Mountain Scenic Area – A Blend of Natural Beauty and Cultural Heritage

Shi Zhu Mountain Scenic Area is located 10 kilometers west of Fuqing City, adjacent to Carp Lake. Visitors can choose to walk up or take a cable car to halfway up the mountain, followed by a walk to explore the area more effortlessly. From the cable car, one can enjoy the particularly beautiful scenery of Shi Zhu Lake. Not far from the cable car station is Shi Zhu Dao Yuan, a temple where Buddhism and Taoism coexist.

Unlike other temples, the main deity worshipped here is not Jade Emperor or Sanqing, but the famous He Jiu Xian in Taoism. It’s important to note that incense and candles are usually much cheaper at the base of the mountain than on the mountain. Inside the temple, you may encounter ‘enthusiastic’ people who guide you on how to worship, which usually incurs additional costs. Politely decline if you do not intend to participate.

If time is limited, one can return from Shi Zhu Dao Yuan. For those who wish to enjoy more natural scenery, continue up the stone steps to the top of Zhuangyuan Peak. The two mountain climbing paths converge at Fu Qiang Pavilion, forming a single path leading to the summit, which requires some physical effort to complete. The scenic area is open all year round and offers service facilities such as a parking lot: Shi Zhu Mountain Parking Lot, reference price: ¥5 per time; address: within the scenic area; capacity: 30 spaces.

Luggage storage: reference price: free. Restrooms: There are multiple restrooms within the scenic area, with conspicuous signs near the ticket office and other areas. Smoking area: Designated areas for smoking are set up within the scenic area. For details, please inquire with the staff.
