The Shibeishan Lighthouse is an important navigation aid on the eastern coast of Guangdong Province. It is also a beautiful tourist attraction by the Huidai seaside. The Shibeishan Lighthouse is 68.8 meters high and is known as the ‘Asia Navigation Lighthouse Tower’. In 1882 AD, it was built by the British International Company and has been rebuilt successively later. The Shibeishan Lighthouse has a range of 18 nautical miles, offering a panoramic view of the sea breeze at the cape. The waterway under the lighthouse was designated as an international waterway by the British more than 100 years ago. The current lighthouse was completed in 1981. It has a reinforced concrete structure. The lighthouse is 68.8 meters high, designed to withstand magnitude 7 earthquakes and wind forces of up to level 14. The visual range of the light on the top of the tower is 24.5 nautical miles. The main light flashes once every 10 seconds and is equipped with equipment such as a radar transponder and a radio navigation system. It is one of the taller navigation towers among the 16 in China.
