The Shili Qianxi scenic area, situated 5 kilometers west of the county seat, spans over 10 Chinese miles and is renowned for its natural landscapes and elegant environment. This area is characterized by rapidly flowing streams, a multitude of strange rocks, and a harmonious blend of peaks, valleys, caves, waterfalls, rocks, and lakes.
To reach Qianxi, one must travel 5 kilometers west of Xinchang County seat, passing through the teapot-shaped landmark, and then turn left into Yuanao Village. Here, the stream flows beneath the rocks and surges through the gaps, creating a beach of massive rocks and cliffs on either side. The sound of the stream is a roaring symphony that echoes through the landscape. Along the shores, scenic spots are scattered, offering a fantastic realm that integrates the natural beauty of peaks, valleys, caves, and waterfalls with a wild charm.
On the road between the ‘Jade Rabbit Rock’ and the ‘Group of Turtles Going to Sea’, one side is bordered by a mountain range and a rocky forest. Within this rocky forest lies an enormous rock, weighing ten thousand tons, that resembles a ‘lion opening its big mouth’. Standing beneath this lion rock, one can quietly listen to the clear sound of tides beside their ears. However, as soon as one moves away from the ground, the tide sound stops abruptly, which is quite surprising. This phenomenon has led to the naming of a flat stone wall beneath the lion rock as the ‘Tide Sound Wall’. Above the lion rock, there is a peculiar rock shaped like a civet cat, aptly named ‘Civet Cat Listening to Sounds’.
On the cliff bank of Qianxi, within a dense pine forest, stands a massive stone pillar that soars straight into the sky, resembling a jade pillar reaching for the heavens. This natural wonder adds to the scenic area’s allure, making it a place of breathtaking beauty and natural wonder.Tianzhu Wansong is a place that is open all year round. You can visit it every day from 8:00 in the morning until 18:00 in the evening.
