Shimenfang, historically known as Shimen Mountain, is a scenic area that encompasses three major attractions: Shimen Mountain, Taiping Gu, and Tianzhu Peak, covering an area of over ten square kilometers.
It was historically famous for its ‘evening glow’, and now is renowned for its red leaves, being one of the top five red leaf landscapes in China, alongside Beijing’s Fragrant Hill, Nanjing’s Qixia Mountain, Suzhou’s Tianping Mountain, and Sichuan’s Miaro. It is acclaimed as the best red leaf spectacle in Qilu.
Shimenfang boasts a rich cultural heritage with numerous cliff carvings and Buddha statues, distinctive pagodas and temples, and the harmonious blend of magical natural scenery and rich cultural landscapes make it a well-known provincial scenic and historical area, as well as a key provincial cultural relics protection unit.
